AFA SOAR Essentials Math and Language Arts.
$99 per month. No long-term commitment required. An adaptive digital math and language arts subscription for students in Grades 3 through 12. SOAR families who transition into AFA Complete for the 2027–2028 school year are eligible for a $500 enrollment credit toward their first year of full-program tuition. See full tuition details.
The program begins with placement activities designed to determine the student’s current instructional level. The adaptive system identifies strengths, unfinished learning, and skill gaps, then establishes an individualized instructional pathway. Students are placed according to demonstrated readiness rather than grade level alone.
Mathematics instruction may range from foundational arithmetic through advanced secondary mathematics, depending on the student’s demonstrated readiness and the courses available within the program. Language arts integrates grammar, spelling, vocabulary, composition, analogies, and verbal reasoning, with instruction, practice, feedback, revision opportunities, and mastery checks.
SOAR Essentials may be used as a primary math and language arts curriculum, supplemental instruction, academic intervention, summer skill development, preparation for advanced coursework, or a mastery-based alternative to fixed grade-level pacing.

Not Included
This subscription does not include AFA Bible, Omnibus, Latin, Spanish, science, logic, rhetoric, or other complete-curriculum courses. Printed materials, devices, and internet access are not included.
Self-Paced Instruction
SOAR Essentials is a self-paced adaptive digital curriculum subscription. It does not require scheduled live classes or required live instructor interaction. Recommended use is approximately 30–45 minutes per subject per instructional day for Grammar Level students, and approximately 45–60 minutes per subject per instructional day for Logic and Rhetoric Level students. Students progress according to demonstrated mastery rather than a fixed age-based schedule.
Activation and digital fulfillment.
After purchase or scholarship authorization:
- The parent submits the required electronic student-information form.
- AFA creates the parent and student accounts.
- Login instructions are emailed to the purchaser.
- The student completes the assigned placement activities.
- The student’s instructional starting point is established.
- The student begins the adaptive program.

Refund and Cancellation Policy
A refund may be requested in writing before activation. After activation:
- Fees for months in which access has been available are non-refundable.
- The month in which written cancellation is received is non-refundable.
- Prepaid fees attributable to future full months may be refunded.
- Registration, setup, payment-processing, downloaded-content, and scholarship-administration fees are non-refundable.
- Scholarship-funded refunds will be processed according to the requirements of the applicable scholarship-funding organization.
